I know this seems odd coming from a personal trainer, ??but I’ve never really been a ‘gym person’. ??I mean, I need to move daily or I go squirrely, but I don’t love working out at the gym. I do love??feeling strong and powerful as I push or pull something and I do love feeling like I worked for my shower. But the gym is not it for me.
The real REASON that I work out is to??live life well. I am motivated by the places I can go, things I can experience and the people I can meet.
I want my body to work. And work well. To pull me up mountains to breathtaking views, to run through nature knowing how lucky I am to have two strong legs to carry me around, to float down the hill on my skis through champagne powder, to glide effortlessly across the water on my kiteboard, to breathe in the serenity of an early morning paddle on butter smooth water and to??allow me to??travel and experience magical adventures that this world has to offer.
That is why I work out.??
And, if you don’t get up, you’ll never know what you are missing. ??No great memories were ever made playing the victim of excuses, so Make it Happen. Change your priorities and Live. Your. Life.
And how am I living mine these days? ??I recently completed my first??Whistler Women’s Ski Camp , and truth be told I haven’t actually thought of ever doing one until a friend suggested it, and I thought, why not? ??The results shocked me. Not only were we lead by an experienced and knowledgeable instructor, but she pushed me out of my comfort zone and into new places (mental and physical) with guidance and reassurance. ??Steeps, deeps, trees and bumps were had, and my technique improved drastically, but what really changed?
My attitude and my confidence.
And that my friend, is my hope for you. Even if just one person reads this and decides to take on a new challenge and follow through, I will feel so completely inspired. And I guarantee that that action will not go unnoticed. I’m already your biggest fan.

Besides, have you ever known someone who did something cool and inspiring? ??Took a trip, completed a marathon or iron man, Heli skied, travelled with their family... and you thought, ‘wow, that’s amazing. Good for them’. ??Yes, it is good for them, but that could be you too.
The only thing stopping you, is you.
You will succeed at some things, and fail at others, but the journey is worth it and in the end, those results won’t matter. ??What matters is the inspiration you are right now. To more people than you will ever know.
Your kids won’t remember the email you ‘had’ to send but they will remember the places you took them, the people they met and the things they did.
They won’t even remember half the things you told them, but they will remember how you made them??feel.
So, just do it. For you and for them.
