It’s time to get with the times. And the times are online.

Online Training is new. And with new, comes fear. Primarily fear of the unknown.  Many people like to wait around until the majority of people have jumped onto something before buying in, but let’s get real for a minute about the future… it’s going Online like it or not.

And that goes for everything.

You no longer need to leave the comfort of your own home to get many things done. Shopping, banking, counselling, nutrition advicelife coaching …everything short of a haircut. Heck, now Amazon Prime Wardrobe lets you try on and return clothes for free never having stepped foot in a store.

It’s all about convenience in a busy world.

And then there are those people who who are looking to slow down and simplify, but it even applies to them.

I mean, hey, I just returned from 5 1/2 months of volunteering in El Salvador, where our food would come to us daily. You could literally relax in a hammock all day if you wanted to and your entire day’s worth of food would come to you.

We woke up to motorbike horns every morning, signifying the different sellers carrying various types of rolls. The kids loved running out with their change. For 5 cents a roll, life couldn’t get better!

The pork lady and her daughter. Fresh and delivered to your door.

You could hear the produce truck and his mega phone from a mile away “tomate, tomate, tomate, piña, piña, piña….”. Whatever was in season was what you got – cheap and fresh!

Total convenience.

But as good as life was with our door to door delivery , we did return to our lives in Canada.

Having had this opportunity to spend more time with my family, see my kids’ sleepy faces wake up in the morning and tuck them into bed every night, I chose to keep and grow my online fitness business.  I still enjoy teaching classes and connecting in person, but I also feel strongly about the merits of online coaching. It surprised even me how well it could work, and I only wish more people would venture into this world and try it.

Recently, I had the honour of recording a fun podcast episode with a fellow trainer, bad-ass vegan Karina Inkster. We are both Online Trainers and have benefited from the likes of other professions who also work in the Online space.

Check out this 30 minute episode that covers why we did it, how our lives changed from it and what you really need to know about it.

This is not to say that there isn’t a place for face-to-face sessions, but if you are looking for some flexibility in your life, it’s certainly worth considering.

Besides, Online Training gives you more frequent and ongoing support from the trainer you love!  If you believe in the trainer’s knowledge and skills, they are the same person you have access to whether you meet up with them in person or online.  Save yourself some money and time and give it a shot! What have you got to lose?

Have you had any experience working with a professional online?  Please share!

I would love to connect, so please join me on FacebookInstagram or message me here.
